cG Bids farewell to its Combat Arms Division

What can I say? As a player on the team it definitely felt like a long, impossible ride. There were many atimes when it felt like it just wasn't meant to be for us to get through a match, yet we still pulled through. From every kill that one of us scored, from every bullet than one of us took for the other, from every successful as well as failed rush, we developed as a team to be feared and known.

cG started right off the bat losing a very valuable starter, Matthew "-Ibiza" Pulla, who as a great player, set us up for a terrible setback when WOGL banned him for a rule-set disagreement. Though shaken, the cG squad decided to venture on without him, and to try our best in order to pay a tribute to his loss.

We were then plagued by a number of inactive players, who although very solid players were never dedicated. Well known players always have activity woes, and although their reputation preceded them, and were poised to become very active, successful players on the cG roster, they had to be dropped. Names like Tamtam, Toucan, Bytemite had always supported our roster, but in our darkest times were nowhere to be found. Even with all their inactivity, they always all had something to share, to give us. Whether a new strategy, more motivation or trust in our abilities.

cG continued on to the remainder of WOGL with a virtually unchanged, yet solidified roster consisting of iKoN, -2sly-, iDeceiver, KNI9HT, PickPocketed. This team was later joined by --Thefray-- and Modus-, both amazing players who each had something to give to the team. Whether it be fray with his amazing strategic and reliable play, or Modus- with his incredibly consistency no matter the enemy. The team continued to become the Sixth seed team for SnD and the Seventh seed in CTF, out of a total number of competing teams of over 50.

Plagued by unfortunate mishaps, cG lost to the current WOGL CTF champions, ZS-Clan right off the bat, and proceeded to be met with chaos when team leader -iKoN, and iDeceiver decided to walk off the team during tough times in their lives. The team of -2sly-, KNI9HT, Pickpocketed, Modus- and --TheFray-- continued to haul the team during all the good times and bad till the team achieved the bronze medal in SnD, in what was arguably the most competitive environment ever experienced on the North American Combat Arms scene.

Had any event happened any differently, had -Ibiza not been banned, had -iKoN or iDeceiver not quit the team, had a single bullet missed one of our heads at a crucial moment, that standing could have been drastically different, and yet, at the end of a road, teams should congratulate themselves on a job well-done and this is what makes cG have its head held up high.

Teams come and go, and cG has hit the end of its road for the Combat Arms scene, while at different times holding North America's top 5 ranking, as acknowledged by Nexon, we now hold the #3 ranking in skill, as acknowledged by the whole world. While it has been a fun time, while it has been a challenging path, cG bids farewell to its team. With roster highlights Jamil "-2sly" Islam moving on to AVA, and Bill "PickPocketed" Cao moving on to CS:S, no contempt is held as we all bid each other farewell and good luck on whatever gaming endeavors are to come.

Great Job everyone - made the best of what we got thrown at us and made it to bronze. This season was probably the highlight season of CA with all the best teams participating at once.
Note to self : Small teams go far.

The enitre CA team was epic, and this is the first time I'll be making a sincere effort to stay in touch with gaming friends I've made, who I've never actually even had the pleasure of playing with :P You guys won't be forgotten at cG', and will always remain Core Gamers

You guys produced a team able to match the achievements and brilliance demonstrated by Core's SWBF team, and I must admit I'm extremey sad to see you guys call it a day, despite knowing it's for the best

I really am torn up about this. It's all too sad, and it sucks that right now I'm hearing sad movie music from the television.

However, it was possibly one of the greatest gaming times of my life, playing with you guys. And while I kept leaving and coming back, I really did support you guys the entire time... No one could read my movements in an SnD match like you guys could, nor could anyone else have the same chemistry I saw.

When iDeceiver and -Ibiza started this clan up, I knew I wanted in immediately. They were both fantastic players who really wanted a serious team -- I saw the potential. And look where my intuition led me... to a ranked team!

Regardless of how I might have behaved toward you guys, I respect you all and this team. I hope all of us can stay in contact - or I'll bite you.

iKon - I don't really know what to say or how to thank you. You've always stuck up for me and always have been nice to me (... in your own way, haha). You always meant the best. We go back a while, don't we? Nemesis, McCoolz, and all. You're also one of the most solid players I've seen.

Knight - You're a great player and great person who deserves to continue playing games with only the best players. Your heart is enormous, even if you and your brother... ahem.

Modus - SHOUTOUT TO MODUS (no, really. You're one of the dorkiest and funniest people evar. And you aimbot.) I'll miss the snipe sessions with you and Knight.

iDeceiver and -Ibiza - You two are visionaries! Look what you've created. You guys were two very amazing players who built a winning team. Congratulations.

PickPocketed - You joined late, and I mistrusted you for a while. But I see you're obviously also a very solid player and a loyal cGer. Plus you're hilarious and nice.

Fray - LOL. YOU ARE THE BEST. Really. Energetic, funny, and always kind. Not to mention, a worthy player.

InkofDeath - I know most everyone else here wouldn't really consider you a cG member... and I doubt you'll ever read this but I remember when iDec first started it you lurked around vent like a creeper even when you weren't even IN the clan. And then, when you joined you were always a faithful member and very helpful. Though some of the cGers may not have seen it, I know you're an excellent and knowledgeable player.
