Being a part of Core Gaming has brought this crossfire team closer to gold than ever imaginable. Moch, leader of Core Gaming's crossfire division (previously named winRAR), set out to create a team that would soon be one of the top teams in North American Crossfire's history. In order to pull off such a great accomplishment, he would have to create a team of loyal-dedicated members and step by step after scrambling to get a steady starting five, Core Gaming's Crossfire division leader Moch set about achieving his goal of becoming the next WOGL-P Champion.
Pre-season is a time where teams can round out the sharp edges. Core Gaming did exactly that, and after winning the two pre-season matches against Apex and [!]nstinct, Core Gaming finalized it's starting five: Mochronik(leader/hybrid), Mygan(Co-leader/rifle), 15[oL](sniper), Iced(rifle), uMaD(rifle). The team was ready to take on the real season and starting out with a 5-0 record, it was at the top of the Alpha division having shut down every team it played against. It wasn't plain sailing though, and surprise came to the community when cG' subsequently lost to the withering LPK team and wOa. With no excuses, cG' was ready to step up its game.
As playoffs began, the team could smell victory. Starting out with a forfeit win against surprise entrants Wrecked, cG' advanced immediately to the semifinals. Semifinals was quite an affair for WOGL. With three of the four teams getting disqualified for breaking the rules, Core Gaming's team was left standing. After a week spent deciding who would move on, WOGL's CEO announced Core Gaming would face [!]nstinct, a reputable team with great skill in the WOGL-P Finals.
Based off Core Gaming's history of beating [!]nstinct in the pre-season and in the regular season, the community stood behind the team as early favourites and come match time, Core Gaming was raring to go. Thousands would be watching the WOGL-P Finals, and with $1,000 on the line the team was ready to give it their all.
Starting out on Sub base ([!]nstinct's choice) it was clear the win would not come so easily. [!]nstinct managed to shut down cG' early on and the aggressive strategies played out by [!]nstinct were difficult to hold. Ending with a loss on the map, the team had it all to do in order to be crowned champions. The 2nd map, Desert Storm (cG's choice) ended with great relief as cG' picked up a necessary win following notable plays by 15[oL] and Iced helping to push the team on to victory. With the map scores tied 1-1, it came down to the tie-breaker map, Black Widow. Starting out on offensive, cG' lost the first half 5-9 and in order to make the necessary comeback, cG' would have subsequently take their greatest half ever played. Dominating into the final rounds, cG' was up 7-3 and two rounds away from victory. [!]nstinct of course had other ideas and finding out our weak spot, was able to steal the last few rounds needed to steal the win. Congratulations to our opponents - worthy champs!
Nonetheless, cG's crossfire division has learned a lot from its first season together and hopes to come back next season with knowledge and experience to take it to the top. We'd like to wish Moch luck in his future endeavours as we seek to make one last roster change and thank you everyone from Core Gaming, you all have been very supportive!
