COD5 Patch 1.2
A note from JD, at COD5 developers Treyarch. Patch 1.2 has been released today, and all C:. Gamers are tgo upgrade asap!
"Hello PC fans,
I am happy to say that we have entered Phase 5 of our PC Patching Process, and are preparing the patch for worldwide distribution!
As such, I wanted to shed some light on precisely what Patch 1.2 has fixed. But first, I’d like to introduce a NEW MAP we’ve included in this patch – Makin Day.
Items addressed in 1.2:
Free Multiplayer Map! The tide is out and the sun is high – this daytime version of Makin sheds new light on the battle!
Fixed exploits that allowed for power ranking servers.
Fixed router related server authentication errors.
Fixed HTTP Redirect functionality for downloading mods
Fixed sound device crashes stemming from Emulated Sound Devices
Fixed exploit which allowed players to color their name tag.
Hits now register properly while targeted player is leaning.
Enabled /cg_drawfps in multiplayer games.
Fixed command-line +connect functionality
/cg_fov no longer resets to the default value in between matches.
Dedicated servers automatically reconnect to the Master Server in case the Master Server resets.
"Accept Game Invite" is bound to its default key, F10.
Implemented fix for attempting to join password protected servers from the server browser.
Fine tuned Bolt-Action Rifles for balance.
Screenshots no longer overwrite each other.
Fixed various multiplayer map related issues and exploits.
We are aware that /record is not on this list, but are happy to say we’ve already begun working on a Patch 1.3 which will address /record. More details on that patch will emerge after the 1.2 release.
So get ready to get your frag on – Patch 1.2 is releasing TOMORROW, Feb. 6th 2009! Mirrors should start being made available in the morning, PST.
Regards,
-JD"

post yer prob on their forum. You're probs being retarded and ignoring a fix... but if you're not, they should know about it man. You can't just sit there complaining and expect them to do something if they don't know you have a problem :P

After all that they still don't fix /record (yes I know it will be in 1.3 but I thought record would be higher on the priorities list).
Fuck the new map, give us something actually worth the DL.

I think they've pretty much realised their game will never be worth competing in, and so cannot be arsed with stuff like the record function... seeing as few people will use it. I think most people are beyond caring these days.
Treyarch suck, they know, we know it. Now they'll just try to skim as much money as possible off the market, cos frankly, pleasing people is almost out of the question after these previous bad experiences with them. If I were them I'd be focussing on renaming & rebranding my company to get rid of all the bad press :P

Fix for sound in Vista:

Just a quick update - this fix should solve the problem some Vista users are experiencing with lack of audio in CoD:WaW after patching to 1.2:
Method A:
* Right-click on the Volume icon in the taskbar (next to the clock, looks like a speaker)
* Select ‘Playback Devices’
* Right-click on your preferred playback device (i.e. Speakers, Headphones, etc.)
* Select ‘Properties’, then click the ‘Advanced’ tab
* Set the Default Format here to ‘16bit,44100Hz(CD Quality)’
Note: You may reach the same menu in Method A through Control Panel > Sound.
Method B - Advanced users only (perform at your own risk!):
* Right-click on My Computer and select ‘Manage’
* Select Device Manager and expand ‘Sound, video, and games controllers’
* Uninstall listed Audio Drivers then reboot the computer
* Vista will now auto-reinstall the on-board sound
* Default Format is now set to ‘16bit,44100Hz(CD Quality)’ automatically
Please note that setting your audio quality to 16-bit will not impact your Call of Duty: World at War gaming experience. The game will sound just as good as it did before, as our sounds are mixed at 16-bit.
Regards,
-JD

That's an understatement. As a administrator of Public gaming servers (games.on.net), record is fundamental in catching hackers/troublemakers.
Plus gaming ladders where you have to record your gameplay.. Intead of having /record you have to use FRAPS which kills your FPS.

thats my point. No-one cares if other people hack or w/e, because no-one competes in it, and such.
