Need help validating windows

I am running windows xp pro sp3... But i seem to have a validation conflict anybody know how to sort this out... I get this stupid thing at the bottom of my desktop and its pretty annoying....

yeh it asks for serial key then i enter it and it says key not valid

well, my next step would be to suggest buying a legit copy then? :P

Or downloading linux, or chrome os.

No, no aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There's always ways around stuff like this. Like reformatting and not getting any more updates for Windows than you need

Had some similar problems with my last pc, don't remember how I managed to get rid of this stuff, but it worked

Edit:
If you're not using that PC for gaming, then I've heard Ubuntu is pretty damn good...
