Someone recommend me a good headset?
I'm going to start off and say I'm using ipod headphones so anything will probably be a improvement.
I'm looking for something that has good sound for both in game and music and is closed ear. Plus one if it comes with a mic that is retractable/detachable so I don't look like a nerd in public but not necessary.
Possibly looking at these:
These are more of audiophile headphones:
SENNHEISER HD 280 PRO and Audio Technica AD700's
And these are more of gaming headsets:
Steelseries Siberia V2 and maybe Razer, not sure.
Any input would be highly appreciated!

Plantronics Gamecom 777 Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset
Me, SamuraiPiggy, BlackRob, and 2 other guys, I believe Vitalix and someone else all got this headset around the same time. I recommended it to Pig and Black, the other 2 were a coincidence.
Speaking for myself, I haven't had any problems with it and I don't believe anyone else has either. The headset is phenomenal!

I have the gamecom 377. They're not surround sound, but hey, I got great soundchams. They're cheaper if you need them, and they work just as well
Though if your not worried about price get the 777

I went plantronics on my last buy and have been impressed. It's no top of the range headset either, and the quality has been very very good

I actually have the 377, but since my sound is simply just so high, I can hear just as good
My sound has been back to normal for CA(Been at a very low of 13) and now its back up to 21. I can hear people coming up staircases and prefire heads

Sony MDR-V6. Anyone who tells you anything else has never tried them on. Go buy it now. No, don't argue with me. Just. Go. It's cheap, its drivers make any gamer headset seem like childs play and it's made of 10% awesome.

I heard the Steelseries 5H v2 is really good for gaming but horrible for music since it was specifically engineered to hear footsteps/bullets.
I don't think I'm going to go with the Plantronics, I've been reading alot of reviews and while the sound quality is not an issue the durability seems to be.
As for the Sony MDR-V6, I put them on the consideration list, they seem to have really good reviews.
In general though, do people know whether or not gaming headsets are horrible for music? I'm sorta leaning toward the Siberia's v2 if they aren't

They're full of it. maybe the mic COULD break if you were stupid with it, but I honestly treat them like shit, and they don't even have a dink. The mic I can understand breaking, it hasn't on mine, and I've had it for a year now.
Platetronics IMO are the way to go.
