Default BFBC2 First impressions?

So...

Firstly, the game itself?
Secondly, the mp?
Thirdly, the game's scope for competition?

Discuss I want info! :P

The game itself:
The single player campaign is quite fun, plays alot like CoD, but with a little weight. And the guys in the B-company are really funny Good graphics, awesome destruction and amazing sound design.

Multiplayer;
Crazy fun. Not as chaotic as CoD, which fits me good since I am tired of all the random shit that gets you killed in that game.

Also, it encourages team work in a good way. You get points for healing and reviving if you're a medic, repairing veichles if you're an engineer, providing your team mates with extra ammo as an assault trooper and so on. This is freakin awesome when playing with people who actually understand the game.

The game modes "Squad deathmatch" and "Squad Rush" are great fun and I believe these are the game modes that are most fit for competetive gaming, but I have no idea how previous Battlefield games have worked in competetive circles, so I might be wrong here.

Edit:
One complaint though: The server browser is slooooow.... But DICE are working on that, I think.

Nope, no console. As far as I know. But I do believe you can mess around with FOV and max FPS in the options somewhere. No idea about recording though.

If I recall, BF2 utilised 8v8 Conquest mode for its competitive stuff.

And I would say that Squad Rush is by far the more balanced of the "Squad" gametypes, where as SquadDM is basically "whoever gets in the tank and has a engineer with the repair tool wins" (four teams of four, first to 50 kills and there's a single light tank in the map which I think can respawn).

8v8 Conquest? Sounds a bit empty to me...

well remember in bf2 ther was ONLY conquest.. if you wanted something TDM style both teams would have to agree that there was to b no flag caps.

I'm best at conquest anyway

PS: Review coming soon

It does, but BF2 had scaling maps which shrank/grew with the amount of players, the smallest variety of which was for 16 players (8v8).

Oh yeah! Forgot about those. Quite sure BF2142 had those too.
