Rappers.... fucking ret0rded.
Jeremy Paxman, Newsnight, interviews a one of the only black parliament members in the UK, and Dizzee Rascal, upon the election of Barrack Obama last year.
Epic comedy. I can't believe Paxman didn't see this coming?

I couldn't watch that to the end. It's got that "oh God, what's going to happen next" cringemaking quality about it.

My god, I love how she couldn't keep a straight face.
"Well why don't your run for office?"
"See that's a very good idea, I might have to do that one days too, Dizzie Rascal for prime minister YEH!"
Lady and Paxman laughing their behinds off. Priceless.
Looking back from now to that conversation, I can see the illusion of safety Obama had promised the world and everyone, and how different that view is in most people's eyes now.
Anyways, not to divulge into politics, but here's how smart rock stars are:

Ehm, in the UK & abroad, he's very much maintained, even improved that "illusion".
Maybe with internal affairs it's not the same, but he never claimed to be a miracle worker... just someone responsible, who, given 4-8 years, could make a severe dent into turning your country around.
I believe the above's an opinion shared by a fair few brits.

Beyond that, I still believe Obama is going about things the wrong way. From where you're living you're hearing of the great things he does, you hear his speeches and like countless other people you're just listening to an orator that the presidential seat has not encountered the likes of since the days of Lincoln.
From where most people who actually care about America and the world's economy are standing, they are looking at the man who tripled the national debt in his first few months in office, tried to close down the last detention facility for serious criminals who were there for a reason, and bows down to Saudi sultans as a sign of respect (going back on every virtue and value our forefathers fought for, that we may never submit to anyone's will).
It's great that Obama can see the world for what it is, it truly is, and I will be the first to tell you that he knows right from wrong. His speech delivered in the University of Cairo (one which I spent a lot of time in, actually, because my dad used to be a prof/researcher there) was dead on about a lot of things. It touched up upon a lot of good things that might need change ... FIFTY years from now! Change comes about gradually, as most will agree, and trying to change everything, even the things that DON'T need fixing, while ignoring debts is no sane thing to do.
I can go on and on. He's a good person at heart, but sometimes he lets his heart get to him and that's a huge problem. I'd rather have a president that is bent on fixing the national debts 100% rather than one that wastes his precious time in the oval room appealing to the hearts of the oppressed and liberating criminals from a detaining facilities. Personal opinion, though.
EDIT: From the post above, I seem too serious, I'm actually a light hearted person with some rather eccentric opinions, always open to a fair argument (as long as I win :P).
